Chiriquí continúa su liderazgo en siembra de arroz mecanizado
Un total de 80,572.8 hectáreas sembradas de arroz han sido reportadas por 1,428 productores, lo que representa 86.9% de lo programado anual (92,757 Ha), según el reporte semanal de la Dirección Nacional de Agricultura del Ministerio de Desarrollo Agropecuario (MIDA).
Hasta el momento del total sembrado, la provincia de Chiriquí registra el mayor porcentaje de siembra con un 25 % (20,151.7 Ha con 589 productores), y le siguen en orden descendente, Panamá Este con 21.8 % (17,536.7 Ha de 139 productores), Veraguas con 13.7 % (11,032.6 Ha de 184 productores.
En cuanto a la superficie cosechada, reportan unas 29,908.7 hectáreas, lo que representa el 37.1 % de la superficie sembrada (80,572.8 Ha), para una producción de 2,873,381.3 quintales húmedos y sucios, con un rendimiento total de 96.1 quintales por hectárea.
Chiriqui continues to be the leader in mechanized rice planting
A total of 80,572.8 hectares planted with rice have been reported by 1,428 producers, which represents 86.9% of the annual program (92,757 Ha), according to the weekly report of the National Directorate of Agriculture of the Ministry of Agricultural Development (MIDA).

MEDUCA suspende retención de salario a los educadores
El Ministerio de Educación anunció este jueves que a través de la Dirección Nacional de Recursos Humanos, se instruyó la suspensión de la medida de retención de los salarios a 17,495 docentes de todo el país, por cuanto, en las próximas horas se liberarán a cada cuenta los referidos sueldos.
En un anuncio hecho por la ministra de Educación, Maruja Gorday de Villalobos, y su equipo de trabajo, se informó que tal como se ha solicitado, se busca abrir el compás para reunirse con los representantes de los 24 gremios magisteriales con miras al retorno a clases a más tardar este lunes 4 de diciembre, en los centros escolares de las 16 regiones educativas.
El objetivo del llamado, manifestó el MEDUCA, es lograr un acuerdo de retorno a clases y establecer las modalidades y extensión del calendario lectivo.
MEDUCA suspends withholding of educators’ salaries
The Ministry of Education announced this Thursday that through the National Directorate of Human Resources, the suspension of the measure to withhold the salaries of 17,495 teachers throughout the country was instructed, since, in the next few hours, the aforementioned salaries will be released to each account.

Selección femenina de Panamá empata a Jamaica
La selección de Panamá femenina empató 1-1 en su visita a Jamaica en el partido por el Grupo B del Clasificatorio Copa de Oro A 2024.
Al minuto 30′ del partido, Natalia Mills ganó un penal, que definió de buena manera Marta Cox para abrir el marcador en la visita a Kingston.
En el cierre de la primera parte, Shaneil Buckley empató el partido luego de una definición de pierna derecha tras un centro desde banda izquierda.

Panama’s women’s national team ties Jamaica
The Panama women’s national team drew 1-1 on its visit to Jamaica in the Group B match of the 2024 Gold Cup A Qualifier.
In the 30th minute of the match, Natalia Mills won a penalty, which Marta Cox finished well to open the scoring in the visit to Kingston.
At the end of the first half, Shaneil Buckley tied the game after a right-footed finish after a cross from the left wing.

Hoy jueves las honras fúnebres de don Ramón Caballero
Con el acto de velación en la Funeraria de El Retiro en David ayer miércoles 29 de noviembre y misa de cuerpo presente hoy jueves 30 de noviembre en la Catedral de San José, familiares y amigos despedirán al exfutbolista chiricano y comentarista deportivo, Ramón “Moncho” Caballero N.
El también dirigente del futbol provincial falleció en la ciudad de Panamá, luego de sufrir dolencias físicas. La misa se oficiará a las 9:00 a.m. y su cuerpo será llevado al cementerio Municipal de David.
Expresamos a la familia del fútbol nuestras sinceras condolencias a los familiares e integrantes del Club de Futbol Doleguita, donde fue uno de sus fundadores.

Today, Thursday, the funeral honors of Don Ramón Caballero
With the wake ceremony at the El Retiro Funeral Home in David yesterday, Wednesday, November 29, and a mass of the body present today, Thursday, November 30, at the Cathedral of San José, family and friends will bid farewell to the former soccer player and sports commentator, Ramón “Moncho” Caballero N.
The provincial soccer leader died in Panama City after suffering physical ailments. Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. and his body will be taken to the Municipal Cemetery of David.
We express our sincere condolences to the family and members of the Doleguita Football Club, where he was one of its founders.

¿QUÉ PASA CHIRIQUÍ?
Ayer miércoles 29 de noviembre de 2023, grupos indígenas procedieron a realizar un cierre de la Vía Panamericana en el sector de Las Vueltas, Horconcitos, Silimín y San Félix, provincia de Chiriquí. Hasta el momento de la redacción de la nota, las vías fueron reabiertas de 6:00 a.m. a 6:00 p.m.
Los dirigentes indicaron estar a la espera de que sea publicado en Gaceta Oficial el fallo de inconstitucionalidad del contrato minero, por lo cual continuarán controlando las vías.
En tanto, largas filas de autos y personas se pudieron ver en diversas partes de la provincia, a la espera de la compra de un tanque de gas.
La Policía Nacional indicó que vías del distrito de Tierras Altas permanecen completamente despejadas para la circulación vehicular. “Queremos informar a la comunidad que nos mantenemos desplegados estratégicamente y garantizando la seguridad en la distribución de cilindros de gas de 25 lbs”, indicaron vía X.

Yesterday, Wednesday, November 29, 2023, indigenous groups proceeded to close the Pan-American Highway in the sector of Las Vueltas, Horconcitos, Silimín and San Félix, province of Chiriquí. At the time of writing, the roads were reopened from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
