Surge Movimiento por la Libertad de Chiriquí y Bocas del Toro
Asociación Cívica por la Libertad y Paz Social de Chiriquí y Bocas del Toro, es el nombre del movimiento integrado por las Fuerzas Vivas de la región occidental de Panamá, que a partir de hoy robustecerá los esfuerzos impulsados por la Sociedad Civil Organizada, para exigir una solución definitiva a los prolongados cierres de vías, que siguen profundizando la grave crisis social, política y económica que atraviesa el país desde el pasado 23 de octubre.
Como parte de las estrategias, este movimiento, ha convocado para este viernes 17 de noviembre a una Marcha Pacífica, que partirá a las 4:00 pm del Parque de Las Madres en la ciudad de David, donde los ciudadanos vestidos de blanco, recorrerán las principales arterias de la ciudad, pidiendo paz, respeto al derecho a libre circulación de los ciudadanos y libertad para trabajar.
Marta Alvarado Fonger, vocera del movimiento, señaló que actualmente son múltiples las afectaciones desencadenadas por la crisis, que alteran la paz social, fomentan el caos, la violencia y atentan contra los derechos básicos de la población, entre ellos la salud, educación, la alimentación y el derecho al libre tránsito consagrado en el Artículo 27 de la Constitución de la República de Panamá.
Las provincias de Chiriquí y Bocas del Toro, han sido las más perjudicadas a nivel nacional desde el inicio de las manifestaciones ocasionadas por la sanción de la Ley 406.
La Asociación Cívica por la Libertad y Paz Social de Chiriquí y Bocas del Toro, está conformada por más de 50 organizaciones.

Marta Alvarado Fonger, spokesperson for the movement, pointed out that there are currently multiple effects triggered by the crisis, which disturb social peace, foment chaos, violence and threaten the basic rights of the population, including health, education, food and the right to free movement enshrined in Article 27 of the Constitution of the Republic of Panama.
The provinces of Chiriqui and Bocas del Toro have been the most affected at the national level since the beginning of the demonstrations caused by the enactment of Law 406.
The Civic Association for Freedom and Social Peace of Chiriqui and Bocas del Toro is made up of more than 50 organizations.
Cortizo hace un llamado a deponer intereses personales ideológicos políticos o económicos
Anoche, El presidente de la República, Laurentino Cortizo, habló por cuarta vez a la nación tras cuatro semanas de protestas, cierres de vías y enfrentamientos en el país, que rechaza el contrato minero entre el Estado panameño y la empresa Minera Panamá.
Al respecto, indicó que el Gobierno Nacional “ha evitado caer en las provocaciones de algunos grupos que recurren a la confrontación con manifestaciones violentas que atentan contra la salud, la educación, los actuales puestos de trabajo, la generación de nuevos empleos, la recuperación económica y la paz social”.
“Este tipo de manifestaciones violentas que hacen uso de la fuerza perjudicando a todos no quedaran impunes porque atentan contra la Constitución y las Leyes que todos debemos respetar”.
En tanto, reiteró acatar el fallo que emita la Corte Suprema de Justicia sobre la Ley 406 del contrato minero.
“En la medida en que hoy respetemos nuestra institucionalidad y el debido proceso tendremos los argumentos necesarios para proteger y defender el país que pertenece a esta y futuras generaciones”.
Cortizo calls for the abandonment of personal, ideological, political or economic interests

Meanwhile, he reiterated that he would abide by the ruling issued by the Supreme Court of Justice on Law 406 of the mining contract.
“To the extent that today we respect our institutions and due process, we will have the necessary arguments to protect and defend the country that belongs to this and future generations.”
Minera Panamá paga al Estado $562,840,543.59
El Ministerio de Economía y Finanzas comunica que en el día de hoy, la Dirección General de Ingresos, recibió por parte de la empresa Minera Panamá la suma de $562,840,543.59 correspondiente a las obligaciones a la fecha, establecidas en el contrato ley.
Adicionalmente, el Ministerio de Ambiente y los Municipios de Donoso y Omar Torrijos Herrera, recibieron B/. 4,284,512 que corresponden al pago de uso de agua, canon superficial y derechos de uso y servidumbre.
Por instrucciones del Presidente de la República al Ministerio de Economía y Finanzas, las sumas de dinero recibidas a la fecha, producto de las obligaciones establecidas en el contrato ley, no podrán ser utilizadas y se mantendrán en una cuenta restringida en el Banco Nacional de Panamá.
Minera Panamá pays the State $562,840,543.59
The Ministry of Economy and Finance communicates that today, the General Directorate of Revenue received from the company Minera Panama the sum of $562,840,543.59 corresponding to the obligations to date, established in the contract law.
Additionally, the Ministry of Environment and the Municipalities of Donoso and Omar Torrijos Herrera received B/. 4,284,512 which correspond to the payment of water use, surface fee and rights of use and easement.
By instructions of the President of the Republic to the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the sums of money received to date, as a result of the obligations established in the contract law, may not be used and will be kept in a restricted account at the National Bank of Panama.
Panamá venció a Costa Rica 3.0
La selección de Panamá superó 3-0 a Costa Rica en el partido por los Cuartos de Final de la Liga de Naciones CONCACAF disputado en el Estadio Saprissa.
“La Roja” siguió con el dominio en cancha, con posesiones largas y ganando duelos individuales en el ataque. El segundo gol llegó al minuto 29′ con la gran definición de José Fajardo, después de la asistencia de Ismael Díaz.
Fajardo sigue la racha goleadora ante Costa Rica, ahora en la cueva del monstruo morado con u potente disparo de pierna derecha que superó fácilmente al arquero Chamorro.
