Avanza la cosecha de arroz en Chiriquí
Un informe emitido por la Coordinación Regional de Planificación Sectorial del Ministerio de Desarrollo Agropecuario, en Chiriquí, reporta la siembra de 19 mil 313 hectáreas de arroz, por 585 productores.
De esta cantidad, ya se han cosechado nueve mil 132 hectáreas, por 359 productores y el rendimiento promedio se estima en 94 quintales por hectárea, siendo las zonas de Alanje, Barú, David y Bugaba, las de mayor superficie de siembra.
El director regional del MIDA, Alcibíades Araúz, informó que los técnicos de las agencias de extensión visitan periódicamente las zonas arroceras de la provincia, para verificar el estado actual del cultivo y brindar la asistencia que el productor requiera.
Rice harvest advances in Chiriqui
A report issued by the Regional Coordination of Sectoral Planning of the Ministry of Agricultural Development, in Chiriqui, reports the planting of 19,313 hectares of rice by 585 producers.
Of this amount, 9,132 hectares have already been harvested by 359 producers and the average yield is estimated at 94 quintals per hectare, with the areas of Alanje, Barú, David and Bugaba being the areas with the largest planting area.
The regional director of MIDA, Alcibiades Araúz, reported that technicians from the extension agencies periodically visit the rice-growing areas of the province, to verify the current state of the crop and provide the assistance that the producer requires.
Cámara de Turismo, Comercio e Industrias de Tierras Altas, Volcán y Chiriquí presenta querella penal
La Cámara de Turismo, Comercio e Industrias de Tierras Altas, Volcán y Chiriquí presentó una querella penal contra 21 líderes de los cierres de calles, luego de agotar todas las medidas de negociación para la reapertura de las vías.
De acuerdo con el comunicado, los fundamentos de esta querella incluyen infracciones a los siguientes artículos del Código Penal:
- Delito contra el Patrimonio Económico (Título VI)
- Daños (Capítulo VII)
- Delito contra la Seguridad Colectiva (Título IX)
- Terrorismo (Capítulo I) y Asociación Ilícitica (Capítulo XIII).
Maru Gálvez, presidenta de la Cámara de Turismo de Tierras Altas, dejó claro que quieren la apertura de la vía, sin horarios y que se pueda dar la movilidad libremente.
Añadió que, hasta el momento, no hay ocupación hotelera, las pérdidas son millonarias y los cierres están perjudicando a 23 mil personas en Tierras Altas.
Chamber of Tourism, Commerce and Industries of Highlands, Volcano and Chiriqui files criminal complaint
The Chamber of Tourism, Commerce and Industries of the Highlands, Volcano and Chiriqui filed a criminal complaint against 21 leaders of the street closures, after exhausting all negotiation measures for the reopening of the roads.
According to a press release, the grounds of this complaint include violations of the following articles of the Penal Code:
- Crime against Economic Assets (Title VI)
- Damages (Chapter VII)
- Crime against Collective Security (Title IX)
- Terrorism (Chapter I) and Unlawful Association (Chapter XIII).
Maru Gálvez, president of the Chamber of Tourism of the Highlands, made it clear that they want the opening of the road, without schedules and that mobility can take place freely.
He added that so far, there is no hotel occupancy, the losses are in the millions and the closures are harming 23 thousand people in the Highlands.
Ministro de Salud afirma que Sistema de Salud Público funciona pese a cierres
El ministro de Salud, Luis Francisco Sucre informó en conferencia de prensa, que, a pesar de la situación actual, el Gobierno Nacional ha logrado mantener funcionando el sistema de salud público.
“Desde que se inició los acontecimientos, el Ministerio de Salud instaló la sala de situaciones y el centro de operaciones de Salud, para llevar la coordinación de manera permanente con todos los gerentes regionales y directores de cada hospital del país”, dijo Sucre.
El Gobierno Nacional ha optado por estrategias, como la reubicación el recurso humano con el objetivo de garantizar el funcionamiento adecuado del sistema de salud y además de salvaguardar la integridad del personal de salud.
Sucre destacó que, aunque los diferentes gremios de salud se han manifestado en contra de la Ley 406 todos se encuentran demostrando su compromiso con la vida y el país.
Minister of Health affirms that the Public Health System works despite closures
The Minister of Health, Luis Francisco Sucre, reported at a press conference that, despite the current situation, the National Government has managed to keep the public health system functioning.
“Since the beginning of the events, the Ministry of Health has set up the situation room and the health operations center, to carry out coordination on a permanent basis with all the regional managers and directors of each hospital in the country,” Sucre said.
The National Government has opted for strategies, such as the relocation of human resources, with the aim of guaranteeing the proper functioning of the health system and safeguarding the integrity of health personnel.
Sucre stressed that, although the different health unions have demonstrated against Law 406, they are all demonstrating their commitment to life and the country.
CONADES licita obras comunitarias por más de $5.5 millones en Chiriquí
Unos siete proyectos comunitarios valorados en más de 5.5 millones de dólares se encuentran en la fase de adjudicación, tras la reciente licitación llevada a cabo por el Consejo Nacional para el Desarrollo Sostenible (Conades) en la provincia de Chiriquí.
Erick Ruíz, director regional de Conades, detalla que se trata de obras que buscan mejorar la calidad de vida de los ciudadanos.
Entre los proyectos se incluye la construcción de la pista de atletismo en el distrito de Bugaba, construcción de instalaciones deportivas en Puerto Armuelles y la Esperanza en Barú, mejoras de aceras en los corregimientos de David y Pedregal, mejoramiento de infraestructuras escolares en las comunidades de Renacimiento, Alanje y Boquerón.
Además, para el corregimiento de Los Algarrobos, se licitó la construcción de una nueva carretera en Camino Real.
Otras obras son la construcción de un puente y mejoras de canales pluviales en la comunidad de El Alba, así como la construcción de cancha sintética y rehabilitación de la cancha de béisbol en Las Lomas, distrito de David.
CONADES tenders community works for more than $5.5 million in Chiriqui
Some seven community projects valued at more than $5.5 million are in the award phase, following the recent tender carried out by the National Council for Sustainable Development (Conades) in the province of Chiriqui.
Erick Ruíz, regional director of Conades, explains that these are works that seek to improve the quality of life of citizens.
The projects include the construction of the athletics track in the district of Bugaba, construction of sports facilities in Puerto Armuelles and La Esperanza in Barú, improvements to sidewalks in the townships of David and Pedregal, improvement of school infrastructures in the communities of Renacimiento, Alanje and Boquerón.
In addition, for the township of Los Algarrobos, the construction of a new road on Camino Real was tendered.
Other works include the construction of a bridge and improvements to storm canals in the community of El Alba, as well as the construction of a synthetic field and rehabilitation of the baseball field in Las Lomas, David district.

Llega nuevo suministro de combustible a Chiriquí
El Gobierno Nacional comunicó que se ha logrado trasladar desde Costa Rica otro contingente de combustible (gasolina de 91 y Diésel) para el abastecimiento de Chiriquí (26 cisternas), afectada por los cierres de vías.
Este nuevo suministro temporal busca aliviar la situación de la población de dicha provincia, sin embargo, el mecanismo no es suficiente para lograr la regularidad y estabilidad diaria de las entregas por depender de la disponibilidad del producto en Costa Rica, lo cual requiere una serie de coordinaciones y formalidades entre entidades y empresas.
Se insta a los consumidores a priorizar el uso del combustible en lo necesario, y a mantener la calma y las medidas de seguridad personal al momento de adquirirlo.
Este combustible estará disponible en ciertas estaciones (listado adjunto) bajo el costo solidario de B/. 3.25 el galón, para evitar la especulación de los precios.

New Fuel Supply Arrives in Chiriqui
The National Government reported that it has been possible to transfer from Costa Rica another contingent of fuel (91 gasoline and diesel) for the supply of Chiriqui (26 tankers), affected by the road closures.
This new temporary supply seeks to alleviate the situation of the population of that province, however, the mechanism is not sufficient to achieve the regularity and daily stability of deliveries because it depends on the availability of the product in Costa Rica, which requires a series of coordinations and formalities between entities and companies. Consumers are urged to prioritize the use of fuel when necessary, and to remain calm and self-assured when purchasing it. This fuel will be available at certain stations (list attached) at the solidarity cost of B/. 3.25 per gallon, to prevent price gouging.

Trucks with medical supplies en route to Chiriqui remain trapped
The Social Security Fund (CSS) reports that six trucks transporting medicines and medical and surgical supplies to the provinces of Chiriqui and Bocas del Toro have been trapped for several days on the route, as a result of the closures between San Félix and Horconcitos, so they have not been able to reach their destination.
These medicines and supplies are essential to serve the entire insured and uninsured population of these provinces, running the risk of deteriorating, so we strongly request the demonstrators on this route to allow the implementation of the Humanitarian Corridor for the free passage of trucks with hospital supplies, ambulances, fuel for boilers, etc. oxygen and health personnel, with the purpose of fulfilling, without distinction, our mission of saving lives and serving humanity.
